In early September, I had a bit of a burnout… I wouldn’t say “episode” because it was quite long, but I guess saga? The news/world was stressing me out, work was crazy and I just needed to shut down for a bit. I resolved to cut down drastically on my scrolling and instead start reading. After reading “I’m Starting to Worry about this Black Box of Doom” by Jason Pargin on my phone, I decided to finance a Kobo Libra Color and was off and running.
I read a total of five books in September, including the one above, which was crazy!
- The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
- Don’t Believe Everything You Think by Joseph Nguyen
- The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K Le Guin
- Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner
I have a lot of time to myself during my work commute since I take the Sounder in three days a week. This was a very nice change of pace and I highly recommend it.
UNFORTUNATELY, I have fallen off a bit with this. I think I read one or two books in October and then none in November, so I need to get back on that for sure. I think I downloaded too many books at once and got overwhelmed, so I may just try to remove a few until I’m ready to read them.
Anywho, let me know what awesome books you’ve read lately and maybe I’ll have to add them to my ever-growing pile!
